Social media policy
The Victorian Law Reform Commission Twitter account is managed by the Victorian Law Reform Commission’s communications team.
The Commission tweets about its references and other issues associated with law reform.
This may include:
- links to news, publications, media releases, or other relevant online information from the Commission
- information about consultations and requests for comment or feedback
- updates on internships
- retweets from relevant bodies.
Links and retweets to other websites, media or content do not imply endorsement of any kind.
Following
@VicLawReform will only follow Twitter users of relevance to our current or recent inquiries, to our work and law reform generally, or Victorian government bodies. If you follow @VicLawReform we will not automatically follow you back. Being followed by @VicLawReform does not imply endorsement of any kind.
Availability
The @VicLawReform Twitter account will be monitored during office hours (9am–5pm Monday to Friday). Some updates may occur out of hours, but responses or direct replies cannot be guaranteed out of hours.
@Replies and direct messages
The Commission welcomes feedback and ideas from our Twitter followers, and endeavours to join the conversation where possible. However, we are not able to reply individually to all the messages received via Twitter. We endeavour to read all @replies and Direct Messages and will ensure any emerging themes or helpful suggestions are forwarded to the relevant people.
The Commission does not comment on, or respond to, party political issues.
The Victorian Law Reform Commission’s Facebook page is managed by the Commission’s Communications Team, on behalf of colleagues across the Commission.
The Commission will post information about our references, consultations, launches, and media releases as well as links to our website and photos.
People who ‘like’ the page will be kept up to date with posts automatically.
Comments
The Commission encourages feedback through comments. However, we are not able to respond to all comments.
We want everyone to feel comfortable visiting the site and expect that all comments will be respectful and productive.
Any comments that are defamatory, discriminatory, unlawful, offensive or party political will be removed.
The Victorian Law Reform Commission does not endorse the views or material contained in users’ contributions.
Availability
The Facebook page will be monitored during office hours (9am–5pm Monday to Friday). Any material posted outside those hours that do not meet the guidelines described above will be attended to the following work day.
