Contact Us
Please note that the VLRC is a research organisation. We cannot provide you with legal advice. This means:
- We cannot identify for you the law that applies to your problem and what it means
- We cannot tell you what you should do to resolve your legal problem
- We cannot give you information about court or other legal processes
- We do not investigate complaints about courts, judicial officers, government agencies, lawyers or police and cannot advise you about how to make a complaint.
If you need legal advice, please refer to this list of people who can help. For general enquiries use the form below or email law.reform@lawreform.vic.gov.au.
Please do not send the Commission any legal or personal documents that relate to or support your enquiry. If the Commission needs any further information from you, we will contact you to ask for it. Any supporting documents that are sent to the Commission will be destroyed safely because the Commission cannot retain them.
Implementation
The Commission’s work on a law reform project finishes when our report is tabled in Parliament. The Commission does not play a role in the implementation of its recommendations nor do we advocate for the implementation of those recommendations. Only Government decides whether and how to change the law. This process does not involve the Commission. We publish details about the implementation of recommendations when this activity is made public: See Implementation – Victorian Law Reform Commission
